Kawasaki KX

  KX250

KX85 Suggestions:

The pre 2014 KX85 is known for good bottom end and midrange but lacks the top end power of other 85’s. For 2014 the engine was given a make over and produces much better top end but it can still be made much more powerful with sensible mods to the head and cylinder.

RED is our top pick for trail/enduro
BLUE is our top pick for MX

KX125 Suggestions:

The late model KX125 is a good engine but lacks the top end performance to make it competetive against the KTMs for MX. We have developed a reliable MX setup that involves head setup and advanced porting and brings peak power up from around 34rwhp in stock form to 39rwhp with more right though the midrange… this engine pulls extremely well!

RED is our top pick for trail/enduro
BLUE is our top pick for MX. This setup is a match for the newer KTMs

KX250 Suggestions:

The KX250 engine is a good performer but like most Japanses 250’s it needs some work done to the head to improve reliability and broaden the spread of power.

GREEN is the minimum we suggest for this model
RED is our top pick for trail/enduro
BLUE gives the best spread of power and is our top pick for MX or serious trail riders

KX500 Suggestions:

The KX500 is just as legendary as the Honda CR500. The main advantage of the KX over the CR is the KIPS valve fitted to the KX. When setup right it can help the KX to produce much smoother low end power than the CR, however they are prone to failure and parts are getting hard to come by. The stock KX head design is terrible and the cylinder porting holds it back up top. Best money spent is on setting up the head properly and if you want the best overall spread of power our package of head setup, advanced porting and V Force reedcage will gain approx 10rwhp up top with more power everywhere from idle up to peak.
